The "Le Martegaou" was a typical sailboat with flat hull bottom from Provence.

Ships of this type were often used along the Rhone for the transport of timber, bricks made of arles and feed. Also on the southern coasts of France was this ship type. However, the boats disappeared as the railway traffic prevailed.
