HURTIGRUTEN SHIP IN THE SCALE 1:60

After the war, the Hurtigruten fleet had to be rebuilt and new ships were needed. In 1956 the M / S Finnmarken was put into service on the Norwegian coast. She was the first ship of the "new line" from Hurtigruten with a superstructure at the stern (rear loader).

The M / S Finnmarken appeared as a prototype of a series of Hurtigruten ships that went into operation in the late 1950s and in the first half of the 1960s. In addition, the M / S Ragnvald Jarl was built according to the same drawings as Finn brands. They were sister ships, although they sailed for different shipping companies. M / S Finnmarken has been retired since 1993 and is part of the Hurtigruten Museum in Stokmarknes.

Original drawings from the Hamburg shipyard Blohm & Voss, from which it was built and delivered in 1956, could be used for the development of the M / S Finnbrands kit. The model is correctly reproduced in 1:60 scale. It has a wonderfully beautiful hull and comes with full decor! The superstructures can be opened to see the interior of the salons. In addition, the model can be illuminated with LEDs both internally and externally. The kit is designed for use with a drive and remote control on the water, but is equally impressive as a standing model. You will find a list of the accessories required for the expansion as a floatable RC model in the "Documents" tab.
The decor contains the lettering of the sister ships M / S Finnmarken, M / S Ragnvald Jarl and M / S Sjøkurs with the NRK logos "Summer Boat".

The kit includes an illustrated construction manual with text passages and parts list in English from modell-tec. This can be downloaded from the "Documents" tab. In addition, we enclose the German translation of the texts and parts list together with some additional information.
